A thought on Nutrition

Nutrition is one of the most important factors when it comes to an athlete’s performance, but it is forgotten about or not taken as seriously by both the athlete and the parent.

I want you to think about this for a second… We spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on our kids or ourselves to play a particular sport. This might be in terms of gear, equipment, extra sessions, physio, chiro, massage, psychology and more but we let ourselves down by sibling putting the wrong food into our bodies.

You wouldn’t spend $10 on a pair of boots and expect them to last you a full season of games/races and you wouldn’t even blink spending $600 on boots that simply won’t make much of a difference to if you win or lose a race/game but you’re happy to put a $2 cheeseburger from McDonald’s into your body or your kids body thinking it’s going to be ok. Except you think twice about doing a big shop at woollies before a weekend away because it’s too much money or you don’t have enough time.

 Think about this comparison:

$10 boots / $2 cheeseburger = poor performance and minimal durability.

$600 boots / $15 chicken salad wrap or a $12 protein shake = Stronger performance with longer endurance capabilities with maximum sustainability.

Don’t skip the nutrition because trust me it will come back to bite you on the bum.
