Forming a new habit

We all want to achieve new goals or do new things but once the motivation wears off we normally let this certain thing slide and we go back into old habits.
So next time you are trying to start something new try this formula:
I will do (current habit) with (new habit)
For example:
I will do 15mins of reading before bed with 5 mins of stretching after.
or
I will have my morning coffee then reply to my emails for 15 mins.
or
I will have my dinner & then spend 1hr with my kid's no technology.
Does that make sense? If we stack a current habit something we do mindlessly everyday because we are so used to it with a new habit it will eventually become routine as well.
