New year’s is on its way and so many people like to make their New Year’s resolutions every year but how often do you stick to them?
Goal Setting

The problem most people face is the fact they end up making a list that looks like a chores list not a set of goals.
So this is how I look at setting goals whenever I set them and I want to make things clear that goals shouldn’t be set just at the beginning of the year.
Goals change all the time and that is ok, our situations change and also sometimes things that were once important may have lost their value and something else has become more important and that again is ok because that is how life works!
Think about your goals and start with making two columns. One will be everything you want to achieve professionally in a job or study lifestyle and the other column is personal goals.
Now each new piece of paper make the heading of each goal. NOW here is an important part IF you have lots of goals and think wow this is too much effort to make all these different headings this is where it will show some of your goals may not be as important as you once thought.
If you question making a new heading for a goal it may not be valuable enough and I class that as a distraction from other important goals. GET RID OF IT.
Now you have cut your goals to only the relevant ones. This is where you break down each goal into tasks or steps. These are small things you will do in short bursts to ultimately achieve your big goal. These should be easy to start and should be finished within a day, week or fortnightly period.
For example:
- BE A TOP TRAINER
- My small steps would be:
Try a new workout each day to see if it works. (only takes an 1hr in my day)
Create a FREE program to help others in the gym. (only take 1-2 weeks to create)
Learn something new by reading a training or nutrition article. (done in a few minutes)
Lastly keep in mind the more ways you spread yourself out the less attention you are giving on each task. You will not be focused. So it is better to have less goals and give them a 100% then have heaps of goals you wish to achieve but only giving 50% and seeing some possibly fail.
