We are driven by numbers. It sucks

We are a society that is driven by numbers… How many likes we have, followers or shares. We rate a person on their following over their actual personality and how they treat others.
We are worried about making sure our pay checks look big but our social time with friends and family is at a zero.

Think of the fitness model you follow with 500k followers that posts booty photos every day with a caption they found on Pinterest and now think of your local trainer in your gym that works day in and day out of the gym, working with multiple clients needs a day.

Why do you give higher regard to the model because they have 500k followers? How stupid does it sound when you put it like that? You have taken advice from a model over a qualified and experienced trainer.

Another example (because I always use fitness ones as that’s my lane and what I find the most common) but let’s look at our local cafés or restaurants again people go to Instagram and Facebook first to see what places are like and go off the following. We then find these ‘cool’ cafés and take a million photos and splash there business all over our socials but what about the café next door to work that you walk in and out of daily because you LOVE their coffee yet because they are from a little down and only have a few hundred followers we ‘forget’ to post and promote their business…

Imagine if these big numbers got taken away and you no longer knew of these big places or big names where would you go?
You go to your local café and to your local trainer wouldn’t you?

Or what about the big salary in the fancy suits. Is it worth losing family time, friends and other loved ones because you are chasing the next dollar or sucking up someone’s ass to get a raise. Imagine if that job role didn’t exist? You make the average salary work for you right? Because you had no other choice… You no longer had numbers to drive you to go bigger! You’d spent time with your kids, family and friends.

Stop letting numbers impact a smart choice…
